Community Guidelines

ilzion is a place to play, learn, and have a good time together. Whether you are a host building a quiz or a player jumping into a quiz with just a nickname, you are part of a shared space — and a few ground rules keep that space enjoyable for everyone. These guidelines are written in plain language because they are meant to be read and actually followed, not buried.

They sit alongside our more formal documents. For the detailed legal rules of using ilzion, see the Terms of Service. For the specific list of things that are not allowed, see the Acceptable Use Policy. These Community Guidelines are the human, everyday version of those rules — the spirit behind them.

1. Our values

Everything here comes back to three simple things we care about:

• Fun. ilzion exists so people can enjoy quizzes together. Keep the energy friendly and playful.
• Fair. A good quiz is a fair quiz. No cheating, no exploiting, no spoiling it for others.
• Respectful learning and play. People come here to learn something, test what they know, or just relax. Treat everyone — hosts, players, and the people behind the screen — with respect.

If you hold to those three, you are almost certainly following the rest of this page already.

2. Be respectful

Treat other people the way you would want to be treated in a room full of strangers who came to have fun. That means:

• No harassment. Do not target, threaten, intimidate, stalk, or repeatedly bother anyone.
• No hate. Content or behaviour that attacks or demeans people based on things like race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or age is not welcome here.
• No bullying. Do not pile on, humiliate, or single someone out to make them feel small — including through nicknames, answers, or chat.

Disagreement and competitive trash-talk between friends are fine. Cruelty is not. If a moment of fun starts to feel like an attack on a person, it has crossed the line.

3. Keep content appropriate for everyone

ilzion is for a general, all-ages audience. Players can join a quiz with nothing more than a nickname, so you should assume people of any age might be in the room. Keep it suitable for that crowd.

This applies to everything you put into ilzion:

• Quiz content — titles, descriptions, questions, answers, and explanations.
• Uploaded media — any images, audio, or video you add to a quiz.
• Nicknames and avatars — the name and emoji or image you pick when you join or host a quiz.

Please do not post content that is sexually explicit, graphically violent, glorifies self-harm, promotes illegal activity, or is otherwise clearly inappropriate for a mixed-age audience. A nickname that is a slur or an avatar designed to shock is not the kind of cleverness we are looking for.

4. Play fair

A quiz is only fun when everyone plays straight. Keep quizzes honest:

• No cheating. Do not use bots, scripts, multiple devices or accounts, or any trick to inflate your score or quiz the answers.
• No exploiting. If you find a bug or loophole, do not abuse it. Tell us about it instead — see our Security page for how to report it responsibly.
• No disrupting quizzes. Do not flood a quiz with junk nicknames, spam, or repeated joins, and do not try to crash, lag, or overload a session for the host or other players.

Ruining a quiz for everyone else to "win" or for a laugh is one of the fastest ways to be removed from it.

5. Respect others' privacy

Have fun without exposing anyone. Do not share another person's private information — their real name, address, phone number, school, workplace, photos, or anything else that could identify or locate them — without their clear permission. Never share that kind of information about a minor.

Do not use quizzes, nicknames, or media to dox, expose, or pressure someone. If you would not say it to their face in front of a room, do not put it in a quiz. For more on how we handle the limited data we do collect, see our Privacy Policy.

6. Only post content you have the rights to

When you create a quiz or upload media, make sure it is yours to use. That means content you created, content you have permission to use, or content that is genuinely free to use. Do not upload images, audio, video, or text that belongs to someone else without the right to share it.

We respect intellectual property and we expect you to as well. If you believe something on ilzion infringes your copyright, you can let us know through our copyright / DMCA process, and we will review it.

7. Reporting, and what happens next

If you see something that breaks these guidelines — harassment, inappropriate content, cheating, or a quiz that should not be here — please tell us. You can reach us through our Contact page, or email support@ilzion.com. For copyright concerns, use the DMCA process instead, and for security issues use our Security page.

When you report something, here is roughly what happens:

• We look at what was reported and the context around it.
• We decide whether it breaks these guidelines, the Acceptable Use Policy, or the Terms of Service.
• We take a proportionate step — which might be removing content, contacting the person involved, or limiting an account.

Please report in good faith. Knowingly making false or malicious reports is itself a misuse of ilzion.

8. How hosts and owners moderate quizzes

Much of the moderation happens inside individual quizzes. The person hosting a quiz runs that room. Hosts and owners can remove (kick) or block a player from their quiz — for example, if someone is using an offensive nickname or disrupting play. To support this, ilzion keeps a short-lived, per-quiz block list tied to a randomly generated device identifier, used only to keep a removed player out of that quiz. Hosts are responsible for the quizzes they run and the content they create. We may also step in at the platform level when something is reported to us or affects the wider community.

9. Enforcement — how we respond

We would always rather guide than punish. Most issues are small and get sorted with a friendly nudge. When we do need to act, we aim to keep the response proportionate to what happened and to whether it keeps happening. In general, that looks like a ladder:

1. Guidance. A heads-up about what crossed the line and how to put it right.
2. Warning. A clearer notice that the behaviour needs to stop, with content possibly removed.
3. Temporary restriction. A time-limited suspension of an account or feature.
4. Permanent ban. Removal from ilzion for serious or repeated violations.

We do not always move one step at a time. Serious harm — threats, hate, sexual content involving minors, doxxing, or anything illegal — can lead to immediate removal without earlier steps. Within an individual quiz, a host can remove or block a player straight away.

10. A final word

We keep these guidelines short on purpose. We cannot list every possible situation, so when in doubt, lean on the values at the top: fun, fair, and respectful. If you do that, you will fit right in.
