Acceptable Use Policy

The content and conduct rules that keep ilzion quizzes fun, fair, and safe for everyone.

This Acceptable Use Policy (the “Policy”) explains what you may and may not do when you use ilzion (“ilzion”, “we”, or “us”) at www.ilzion.com. It applies to everyone: account holders who create and host quizzes, players who join a quiz by PIN with a nickname, and anyone else who interacts with the service.

This Policy is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Service. Words defined there have the same meaning here. For the spirit behind these rules and practical guidance on being a good participant, see our Community Guidelines. By using ilzion you agree to follow this Policy.

1. Purpose

ilzion is a live, multiplayer quiz platform. Hosts build quizzes and run real-time quizzes; players join with a nickname and answer questions for points. The point of this Policy is simple: to keep that experience enjoyable and safe, to protect users from harm and abuse, to protect the integrity of the quizzes, and to protect the service itself from misuse. The rules below are not exhaustive — if something is harmful, deceptive, or abusive in spirit, do not do it, even if it is not spelled out word-for-word.

2. Prohibited content

You are responsible for everything you create, upload, host, or display through ilzion — including quiz titles, descriptions, questions, answers, explanations, uploaded images, audio and video, display names, and nicknames. You must not create, upload, share, or otherwise make available any content that:

  • Is illegal or promotes, facilitates, or instructs others in illegal activity under any law that applies to you.
  • Infringes intellectual property— copyrights, trademarks, or other rights you do not own or have permission to use. If you believe content on ilzion infringes your rights, see our Copyright / DMCA Policy.
  • Is hateful or discriminatory— content that attacks, dehumanizes, or incites hatred or violence against people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or other protected characteristics.
  • Harasses, bullies, threatens, or intimidates any person, or encourages others to do so.
  • Sexually exploits or endangers minors in any form. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (CSAM), the sexualization of minors, or any content that exploits or endangers children. Such content is removed immediately, the responsible account is permanently banned, and we will report it to the appropriate authorities and preserve relevant information as required or permitted by law.
  • Is sexually explicit, obscene, or gratuitously graphic or violent— including pornographic content and depictions of extreme violence, gore, self-harm, or cruelty.
  • Is spam, deceptive, or a scam— including phishing, fraud, pyramid or “get rich quick” schemes, misleading promotions, or unsolicited advertising.
  • Contains malware or harmful code— viruses, trojans, ransomware, malicious scripts, or links intended to compromise devices, accounts, or data.
  • Discloses private informationabout another person without their consent (“doxxing”), or impersonates a real person, brand, or organization in a misleading way.

3. Prohibited conduct

Beyond the content you publish, how you behave on ilzion matters. You must not:

  • Harass or abuse other users— including hosts, players, and our team — through nicknames, chat, answers, or any other channel, and you must not target, mob, or pile on any individual.
  • Impersonate another person, host, player, or ilzion staff, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organization.
  • Cheat or exploit the quiz— using bugs, glitches, hidden APIs, or any unfair method to gain points, manipulate scores or leaderboards, or otherwise undermine the integrity of a quiz.
  • Use bots or automated access— scripts, crawlers, or automated tools to interact with the service, submit answers, or join quizzes, except where we have given explicit written permission.
  • Scrape or harvest content, data, or personal information from the service by any automated or systematic means.
  • Mass-join or automate accounts and rooms— creating accounts in bulk, or joining quizzes or rooms en masse, whether to disrupt, flood, or quiz the system.
  • Attack authentication or authorization— attempting to break, bypass, or interfere with our sign-in, sessions, access controls, or to access any account, quiz, or data that is not yours.
  • Disrupt or overload the service— denial-of-service (DoS) attacks, flooding, or any activity that degrades performance or availability for others.
  • Probe or test our security without authorization.Do not scan, penetration test, or otherwise probe the service for vulnerabilities unless you are following our coordinated disclosure process. If you find a security issue, please report it responsibly — see our Security page.
  • Circumvent bans, blocks, or rate limits— including evading a kick or block from a quiz, creating new accounts or identities to get around a suspension, or working around technical limits we put in place.
  • Reverse engineer or tamper with the service except to the limited extent that applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction.

4. Fair-play expectations for quizzes

Quizzes are the heart of ilzion, and quizzes are most fun when everyone plays honestly. We ask hosts and players to:

  • Play your own quiz.Earn points through genuine participation — not through automation, shared answer keys obtained improperly, exploiting timing or scoring bugs, or coordinating to manipulate results.
  • Keep nicknames respectful. Choose a nickname and avatar that are not offensive, harassing, impersonating, or otherwise in breach of this Policy. Hosts may kick or block players who use inappropriate nicknames.
  • Host in good faith. Build quizzes that respect these rules, do not use questions or media designed to harass or deceive players, and moderate your own quizzes fairly.
  • Respect the room. Do not deliberately disrupt a quiz, spam answers, or spoil the experience for other participants.

5. Consequences of violations

We aim to enforce this Policy fairly and proportionately, but we reserve the right to act quickly to protect users and the service. Depending on the nature and severity of a violation, and whether it is repeated, we may take one or more of the following actions, with or without prior notice:

  • Content removal— removing, hiding, or restricting access to quizzes, media, nicknames, or other content.
  • Warnings— notifying you of the issue and asking you to correct it.
  • Suspension— temporarily limiting or disabling your access to an account, a quiz, or certain features.
  • Permanent ban— terminating your account and barring further use of the service.
  • Legal referral— reporting unlawful activity to law enforcement or other authorities and cooperating with lawful requests, where appropriate.

The most serious categories — in particular any content that exploits or endangers minors — result in immediate removal, a permanent ban, and referral to the relevant authorities. Where we suspend or terminate an account, our handling of any associated personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, and account holders can also request deletion through their account settings or our Data Deletion process.

6. How to report a violation

If you see content or behavior that breaks this Policy, please tell us so we can act. The more detail you can give — the quiz PIN, the nickname or account involved, what happened, and when — the faster we can respond.

We review reports in good faith but cannot promise a specific outcome or response time for every report. We may take action at our discretion, consistent with this Policy and our Terms of Service.

7. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time as ilzion grows and as the threats we need to guard against change. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of ilzion after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
